Brag’s newest venture in Leven is open.

On Saturday 2nd April the Together Levenmouth hub was opened by Fife’s very own David Mach. The famous sculptor who is well known for his large scale sculptures including; “Big Heids” on the M8 between Edinburgh and Glasgow. The Sculptor who was born in Taylor Street in Methil said: “This is a very positive thing for the area, it’s very family oriented,” He added: “They used to call this place the Riviera of Scotland, I think we should call it that again.“

Crowds of people were treated to bagpipe music by youngster Kai from Buckhaven free face painting by Danielle Scobie was included for the kids with balloons being given on entry. The opening followed a week long soft opening where local community groups, councillors, staff and the board of Brag Enterprises were invited to try out the facilities to iron out any difficulties prior to opening. Project Manager Sue Oak said: “I am speechless, and excited to welcome everyone and I think everyone is going to have a lot of fun here” with Hub Manager Graham Cape adding: “I’m very happy and really looking forward to everything that’s going on here.”

The hub features two escape rooms, two crazy golf courses, a café, gift shop and party room available for hire and was born as a need to re-imagine the High Street, aiming to increase visitor numbers to Levenmouth as a whole and more specifically to the High Street. It was made possible by local and national government funding, with profits going back into the charity for community projects.

The Hub has created 10 new jobs with most of the hub staff living in Levenmouth. Hub Team member Rhys Brown said: “It’s going to be awesome, something new and fresh that Levenmouth has never had before” with co-worker James Ballingall adding: “I feel great, I think it’s really going to bring the community together.”

Together Levenmouth also host the monthly Leven Artisan Market, with the next being held on Saturday 9th April and have teamed up with the Scottish Subaru Owners Club to bring the Easter Sunday event Cars, Chocolate 4kids at Cotlands park Kennoway. The event is free to attend with a small market, kids rides, a car show and easter egg hunt.
