Primary Schools from across Fife came together at the Racewall in Cowdenbeath to take part in the first Fife Education Greenpower race event
Organised by BRAG’s Youth & Community Development Team all of the teams were excited to get on the track and show what they had achieved through the building and designing the bodywork of their Goblin kit cars.
BRAG’s Kirsten Spence, said: “We were overwhelmed by the determination of the youngsters on the day and the supporters that they brought with them.
“The pupils were very keen to tell us what they had learned about the process of designing and building the cars and the skills and knowledge they had gained in engineering, mechanics, PR, Sponsorship, teambuilding and communication, to name a few.
“This was all clearly shown in the team’s Portfolios that they also produced on the day”.
The BRAG team would like to thank a number of organisations for all their support and input on the day including Greenpower Education Trust, Fife Council Education Services, Cowdenbeath Racewall for the use of the track on the day and all of the trophies they sponsored, Central Fife Crime Prevention Panel, Cowdenbeath Community Council, Greggs the Bakers Cowdenbeath, Benarty Fruits, Morrison’s Cowdenbeath, Cowdenbeath Community Police Team, STEM Ambassadors and, of course, all the schools who took part on the day and their supporters.
