Job Title:        Pantry Assistant/Driver

Job type:        Volunteer

Location:        Crosshill

Who we are looking for.

Do you want to make a difference?

Would you like to meet new people?

Do you have a little free time?

The pantry@brag was originally born as a coronavirus emergency response, but now continues to run as a people’s pantry offering affordable food to people from the Benarty area. The food the pantry receives mostly comes from the charity Fareshare which receives surplus food stock from supermarkets and they then deliver to us on a weekly basis, we also receive donated food from local businesses.

As the lockdown has eased we are finding ourselves with less volunteers as those we had were furloughed and have recently returned to work. We now need Volunteers to help with the set-up of the pantry and to serve our members at the pantry when its open.  We are also looking for packers and delivery drivers.

We also provide a listening ear to those in crisis with weekly coffee mornings for those living in isolation where we support them with cooking on a budget and energy advice

In return you will:

Gain confidence in dealing with the public.

Be able to help to reduce food waste.

Gain valuable work experience and reference.

Meet new people and perhaps widen your social circle

Give back to your community
