Food For Thought allows us to further support our poverty reduction activities within the local area, adding value to our current Pantry provision and our new Community Roots@BRAG Project.  The project delivers;

A Food Education Programme - reducing food waste, this is designed to support individuals and families to cook and eat together, exploring healthy meal options and cooking with food available at the Pantry, cooking left overs, cooking on a budget etc.  The project delivers adults only and family cooking sessions.

Health & Wellbeing Programme – the project provides a wide variety of activities to support mental health & wellbeing, we have a rolling programme of activities such as such as yoga (chair yoga) and mindfulness, Arts & Crafts, Flower Arranging, Crochet Club, Line Dancing, Candle Making, and Cake Decoration which people can join weekly or attend as and when they wish too.

Energy Efficiency Support – support more individuals and families to deal with fuel poverty, fuel debt and energy efficiency within their homes, providing support through drop ins and offering education to help build resilience as well as providing support packages.

The project also aims to tackle the issue of climate change through making small changes and taking steps to increase awareness of and support people to tackle the climate emergency at a local level. This could be though reducing food waste, upcycling, recycling arts & crafts, foraging, energy efficiency and reducing emissions.
