Games Design Course Celebration

Earlier this year we welcomed young people from our community onto our Games Design courses that were running in conjunction with No One Left Behind– Bright Futures.

Working with students from Abertay University, our young people co-designed a playable game called ‘Kitsune: A Lost Way’, which can be played on a VR Headset. During the course they designed and edited the game, looked at programming and used 3D graphics to create the game whilst building their confidence.

Their game was included in Abertay University’s first Applied Games Showcase where our young people were able to speak about the game with university staff and students as well as business owners and organisations who were in attendance.

Kirstin Spence, Senior Operations Manager here at BRAG Enterprises, said:

‘The partnership with Abertay has been phenomenal. Our young people benefit hugely from working alongside university students and clients. It gives them a real sense of responsibility and helps them develop the confidence and skills they need for the world of work or further study. This is our second year working with Abertay and we have already seen many of our participants move on to positive destinations.’

Due to the success of the course, it will return in 2026 however in October there is an opportunity for people aged between 16 and 24 to attend Games Design – Idea Jam. A 3-week course which will allow young people to meet similar people who are interested in how games are made and to share their idea on what type of game should be made.
