BRAG Enterprise has been crowned Social Enterprise of the Year 2025 at the Social Enterprise Awards Scotland, held on 6th November 2025 at the voco Grand Central Hotel in Glasgow. The event brought together leading social enterprises from across Scotland and was attended by prominent figures, including First Minister John Swinney MSP.

Accepting the award, Managing Director Brian Robertson-Fern reflected on BRAG’s remarkable journey:

“BRAG has been in operation for 36 years, so this has been a long time in the making. Countless people have walked through BRAG’s doors—dedicated staff, passionate volunteers, and community members who have all played a part in shaping what BRAG is today. This award pays tribute to every single person who has contributed to the journey.”

Brian also reaffirmed BRAG’s commitment to the Scottish Government’s place-based model of Community Wealth Building, emphasizing the importance of collaboration:

“For this vision to succeed, local governments across Scotland must continue to nurture and build capacity within their communities. BRAG’s own experience demonstrates that recognition and impact take time and tenacity. We commend Fife Council for their ongoing support, which has been instrumental in helping us achieve our goals and strengthen our community.”

The Social Enterprise of the Year Award was sponsored by Keegan and Pennykid, who also served as headline sponsor for the event. In her opening remarks, Managing Director June Pennykid stated:

“We’re proud to shine a light on the people and projects that make this movement thrive.”
