BRAG recently hosted an employability workshop at the Pop Down @ The Hub space within the Together Levenmouth Hub, providing young people with practical tools and insights to help them take the next step towards employment.

Delivered by BRAG employability specialists Craig and Lynne, the workshop was open to participants currently engaged in the Bright Futures Programme. Bright Futures supports young people aged 16 to 24 who are facing complex barriers to employment and forms part of the Scottish Government's No One Left Behind framework.

The interactive session covered a range of key employability topics, including CV writing, creating effective cover letters, and techniques for making job applications stand out. Participants also learned about the growing role of Applicant Tracking Systems (ATS) and how employers increasingly use ATS software and artificial intelligence tools to screen and shortlist applications.

In addition to helping participants strengthen their job application skills, the attendees gained valuable insight into what employers expect from candidates based on the information presented in their CVs and application forms.

The workshop received positive feedback from participants, with one attendee commenting:

“That was really good. There is a lot I didn’t realise about doing applications, so it was really helpful.”

BRAG remains committed to helping individuals across Fife develop the skills, confidence and knowledge needed to secure and sustain employment. Through programmes such as Bright Futures, participants receive tailored support from experienced employability coaches who understand the challenges young people may face on their journey into work.
