BRAG Enterprises is delighted to announce that the Together Levenmouth Hub will host Hidden Histories art exhibition celebrating the memories, heritage and stories of the local area, on Thursday 18 and Friday 19 September.

Commissioned by the Leven Riverside Project and Archaeology Scotland, Hidden Histories brings together creative work inspired by the rich history of the River Leven and the communities that have shaped the area over generations.

The project was led by archaeologist, Lizzie Robertson, who has worked on heritage projects across Scotland and is passionate about connecting people with their local history through creative activities.

As part of the initiative, Lizzie held several sessions involving three East Fife community groups: Methilhill Community Children's Initiative (MCCI), East Fife Sporting Memories and residents of Methil Care Village.

During the sessions, children from MCCI created a unique sound map of the River Leven inspired by the sounds it produces, while older participants shared their memories of the area during the 1950s through postcards and audio recordings. These personal reflections and creative contributions will form a key part of the exhibition, which will be displayed in the Pop-Up @ The Hub space.

In addition to exploring the exhibition, visitors will have the opportunity to contribute their own memories and experiences. Blank postcards will be available throughout the event, allowing attendees to add their stories to collection and become part of the project themselves.

Commenting on the project, Lizzie Robertson said:

"I have been amazed by how many people were willing to share their stories and by the enthusiasm they brought to the project, regardless of their age."

BRAG Enterprises is proud to support local initiatives that bring communities together, celebrate local heritage and create opportunities for people of all ages to connect through shared experiences.

The Hidden Histories exhibition is free to attend and will be open at the Together Levenmouth Hub from 9 am to 4 pm on both Thursday 18 and Friday 19 September.
