BRAG staff were out in the local community last weekend, volunteering their time and supporting a number of community events across Fife, demonstrating the organisation's ongoing commitment to supporting and strengthening local communities.
The weekend began on Friday evening, when four members of the BRAG team, Brian Robertson-Fern, Elaine Richards, David Robertson and Lindsay Slavin, attended a charity quiz night organised by Leven Community Council. The event was held to raise funds for the upcoming drone show scheduled to take place at Leven Promenade on 6 November.
Competing under the team name Bragging Rights, the group finished in fourth place. Despite not taking home the trophy, the evening proved to be a great success, raising an impressive £1,200 towards the community drone show. BRAG would like to thank Leven Community Council for the invitation and looks forward to a rematch in the future.
The community spirit continued on Saturday, with Brian Robertson-Fern helping to set up gazebos for Glenfest in Leven Glen. Blessed with sunshine throughout the day, the popular community event featured performances from 15 bands, attracting residents and visitors for a full day of live music and family entertainment.
Adding to the day's success, BRAG's Elaine Richards enjoyed a stroke of good fortune at the Rotary Club of Leven's Hook-a-Duck stall, winning a fantastic prize. BRAG would like to congratulate all of the organisers, volunteers and stall holders whose hard work contributed to another successful and enjoyable community event.
Meanwhile, BRAG's Pantry Co-ordinator, Lorraine Hunter, was lending her support to another major local event at Lochore Meadows, volunteering at the special Parkrun with Joe Wicks event. The occasion attracted 821 participants, setting a new attendance record for the park and highlighting the growing popularity of community health and wellbeing activities across the area.
Lorraine, alongside members of the extended Hunter family, are regular volunteers at the organised running events throughout the year. Their dedication to supporting local community is widely recognised and they continue to be fantastic ambassadors for the wider Benarty Area.
Through volunteering, fundraising and active participation in local events, BRAG staff remain committed to supporting the communities they serve. The weekend's activities showcased not only the dedication of individual team members but also BRAG's wider commitment to promoting community engagement, wellbeing and local partnership working across Fife.
