Frontline staff from across the Fife Employability & Training Consortium (Fife-ETC) came together this week to share best practice and discuss developments following the introduction of a new reporting system for the Scottish Government’s No One Left Behind employability programme.
Established in April 2015, Fife-ETC brings together six third sector partners: BRAG, Kingdom Works, Fife Voluntary Action, Clued Up, CARF and Frontline Fife. The consortium works together to ensure people across Fife can access the specialist support they need, regardless of which organisation they initially approach for help.
The event provided an opportunity for everyone to discuss the implementation of the new reporting system, seek clarification on processes and share information about current and upcoming employability programmes, workshops and courses available across partner organisations.
The session opened with Audrey Cowie, Fife-ETC Compliance Officer, who provided an overview of the new system and addressed frequently asked questions. Audrey encouraged attendees to make the most of the support available, saying:
“We are all learning together. Ask me as many questions as you need, it will only make the service we provide better.”
Representatives from Kingdom Works, BRAG and Clued-Up shared updates on their current services and highlighted the courses and learning opportunities planned over the next six months. The discussion helped ensure keyworkers across the consortium remain aware of the courses available, enabling clients to access the opportunities best suited to their individual needs.
During the meeting, CARF outlined enhancements to its service following recent staff training. As a result, all CARF advisers are now able to provide debt advice alongside income maximisation support, benefit checks, benefit appeals and guidance on changes to benefits and income. The organisation also encouraged partners to contact them if they are uncertain whether a referral is required.
Attendees were also introduced to Frontline Fife’s Housing Health Check, a new initiative developed in response to recent changes in housing legislation with future updates planned for 2027. The service aims to help tenants better understand their rights and entitlements, whilst also providing support to clients when engaging with landlords.
A total of 18 staff members attended the event with discussions highlighting the value of the consortium working together to deliver positive outcomes for clients, with attendees reflecting on how collaboration helps build trust, reduce anxiety and ensure individuals receive the right support at the right time.
The event reinforced Fife-ETC’s commitment to working together to deliver a seamless, person-centred employability service for people across Fife.
