Community Consultation to Support Arden House within Together Levenmouth Hub

.page-id-7927

Local charity Arden House will host a community consultation event on Thursday 22 October, from 10 am to 2 pm at the Together Levenmouth Hub, as part of its plans to secure larger premises and increase support for people across the Levenmouth area.

Arden House currently provides vital services to more than 140 older and vulnerable residents and has operated from its base in Commercial Street, Leven, for almost five decades. However, increased demand for services means the organisation is now operating at full capacity and managing a significant waiting list.

To address this growing need, Arden House has submitted an application to Fife Council to take over the former Poppyview Family Centre in Methil through a Community Asset Transfer. The move would provide additional space, enabling the organisation to expand its reach and support even more people within the local community.

Community Asset Transfer legislation, introduced through the Community Empowerment (Scotland) Act 2015, allows community organisations to acquire or lease publicly owned buildings where they can demonstrate clear and lasting benefits for local people.

As part of the application process, Arden House must evidence how the proposed use of the building will meet community needs, deliver positive social outcomes, and remain financially sustainable. Community feedback plays a vital role in strengthening the application and ensuring local voices help shape the future of the facility.

The consultation event will give residents the opportunity to learn more about the proposed transfer, share their views, and discuss the potential of the Poppyview site directly with Arden House representatives. Information will also be available on the range of services currently delivered by the organisation and how these could be enhanced through the move.

Those unable to attend the consultation in person can still support the proposal by completing an online survey and sharing their views on the future of the former Poppyview Family Centre by clicking here

The event is open to all members of the community, and local residents are encouraged to attend.
